November 2016 USF Presidential Search Update

December 2, 2016

The Presidential Search Committee recently conducted telephone interviews with the leading presidential candidates in order to identify those most suitable for consideration by the Personnel Committee of the Board of Trustees. While the vast accomplishments and impressive attributes of all of these candidates made the telephone interviews profoundly enjoyable, they also made this selection process difficult.

The Presidential Search Committee reconvened following the telephone interviews and carefully reviewed each candidate. All committee members actively discussed the candidates and respectfully participated in the process. The collective wisdom that emerged from the group reflected etchings of the specialized knowledge, objective appraisals, keen insights, and prayerful discernment brought to the deliberations by each member.

At this time, the Presidential Search Committee is pleased to inform you that we have identified a set of candidates to advance to the Personnel Committee for their consideration for the USF presidency. Each of these candidates would bring considerable strengths, notable qualifications, and vitality to this position and, we believe, would thrive as our next president.

On behalf of the Search Committee, I will continue to keep the campus community informed as we proceed in our search for our 23rd President.

Thank you for your continued prayers and support.

With appreciation,

Gretchen Hoffman, Ph.D.
Chair, Presidential Search Committee
Associate Professor of Psychology
